Ranger Remote Control: Release Information

Ranger Remote Control 8.51 Release

We have released an update for Ranger Remote Control. This release is a fix release only and does not provide any new functionally but includes a number of fixes for the product. The list below shows the most significant fixes included in this release

• The Ranger Remote Control now functions correctly when a machine resumes from a standby or hibernated power state
• Included are fixes that enable the Ranger Remote Control Student component to load some Windows 95 Machines
• Fix for thumbnails not being displayed when monitoring Terminal Server clients or clients that run on virtual PC's
• Fix for viewing machines with multiple monitors, when the monitors are rearranged
• Fix for Groups Not being correctly saved in the Ranger Remote Control Tutor
• Fix for error in file transfer when a student disconnects
• Fix for the Test player not working after a Ctrl+Alt+Del

In 8.51 we now have a new feature called Class Lists - a quick and convenient way of saving multiple student lists for different classes. Simply load the Class List at the start of a lesson to quickly connect to Student PCs

• Show just a selected application to all or selected Students
• Leave a recording of a show on the students PC for future review by the student
• New optimised high definition student thumbnails
• Create groups dynamically based on Student responses
• Full Internet Co-Browse feature - Allows a teacher to open selected web sites and synchronise this with the browser on each student PC
• Now utilise any of 16+ different question styles
• Set examination grading levels (i.e. over 75% = A Grade)
• View a contact summary for each Student at any point by using a "mouse over" or the student icon
• Use customised icons for individual or group s of Students
• Remote "Log in" - Remotely log in to Student PCs at the beginning of class
