Student Charging
Ranger Print Manager provides a mechanism for print charging, but its level of adoption and implementation detail is optional. Some schools simply use print charging as an internal method of monitoring for abuse and misuse, while others opt for a full student quota limit program. It is also possible to have a mixed solution where free printing is permitted up to a certain amount, after which point charges are applied.

Ranger Print Manager requires no additional hardware. Installed on your existing Windows print server or proxy server, the print monitor runs as a service without seriously impacting the server.

Print Verification Pop Up
Ranger Print Manager installs a client at each workstation to perform local functions and reduce costs. The client may be automatically activated if you require the student to confirm a print job before it prints, if you require the teacher to supply charging information for a print job or if the student receives a message to notify them an event like a failed print job or a low balance. The student can view their account balance, check their print settings and transactions, as well as perform a variety of tasks such as allocating a recharge voucher or printing a statement. All these functions can be enabled or disabled via the Administration program.

Web Interface
The Ranger Print Manager client allows users to make a Balance Inquiry and add Credit to their account via a Recharge Voucher from any networked PC.

Recharge Vouchers
Recharge Vouchers allow users to "recharge" their print balance in the same way as a conventional cash receipt, but without the need for staff to enter a receipt transaction. Each voucher has a unique activation code. The user can enter this code either via the pop-up client or web interface. Once the code is entered, the voucher will be "allocated" and the user's balance will be increased appropriately. Each voucher is unique and can only be allocated once.
