The following steps outline the installation process of Ranger Account Manager on a Domain Controller.
Insert the Ranger Account Manager CD into the CD ROM drive of the machine or, if you downloaded the install file from our website, double-click the install file. Working files will be unpacked into the temporary area on the server and the initial dialog will be displayed.

Click 'Next' to begin the installation process.

This dialog displays information regarding the installation. Click 'Next' to continue. This will display the licence dialog.

Read the agreement and if you agree to its terms and conditions, select the 'I Agree' option. Click 'Next' to continue. Continuing with the install will indicate that you accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement.
The installation options dialog is displayed.

Change the installation location if applicable and click 'Next' to continue.

Click 'Next' to continue and Ranger Account Manager will be installed.

This dialog performs the installation of Ranger Account Manager. Should you wish to interrupt the installation process, please click the 'Cancel' button. Once the installation has finished, the Ranger Account Manager Configuration Wizard will run automatically and will present you with two options.

Please click on the option which best describes your scenario. Please refer to the relevant section in this chapter to either configure a new site, or an existing site. Once you have completed the steps outlined in the relevant section, then please return to this point in order to continue.
Once you have configured the relevant settings in the previous section, you will need to supply the Domain Administrator's credentials in order to continue.

Enter in the Domain Administrator's username and password. Click the 'Next' button to continue.

Enter the password you would like to use for the Ranger Account Manager service. This password must be at least 7 characters and not more than 14 characters in length. It also must contain at least 1 digit and at least 1 special character. Click the 'Next' button to continue.

Please enter the TCP port which you would like the Ranger Account Manager server to listen on. The default is fine, however you may wish to change it for security or site specific reasons. Click the 'Next' button to display the configuration summary.

Please read through the configuration summary in this dialog and if you are certain that everything is correct, then click on the 'Apply settings' button to continue. Should you need to change anything, please click on the 'Back' button.

Once the Ranger Account Manager Configuration Wizard has finished applying your settings, the completion dialog will be displayed. Any errors that occurred during the process will be displayed. If there are no errors, then click the 'Finish' button to continue.

Once you have clicked the 'Finish' button in the previous step, a dialog will prompt you whether you would like to activate the product now or later. The recommended method is to activate the product now, so please click on the 'Yes' button to continue. The activation procedures are covered in the Product Activation section. Please follow the steps outlined there, and return to this point when you are finished.

The final dialog will be displayed once you have completed the activation process, or if you have declined to activate Ranger Account Manager at this time. Please click on the 'Close' button to exit the installation wizard.
