Question
Why do my documents say 'Protected by DeviceShield' all over them
Cause
This is a phenomenon relating to FileGuard version 4.1.0.13
Resolution
Upgrade to the latest version of DeviceShield and Fileguard
Instructions
On the client in C:\Windows\System32\ check the file version of Fileguard.exe
On the DeviceShield computer the copy that is deployed to clients is in C:\Program Files\DeviceShield 3.0\Client
If Fileguard is not 4.1.0.25, remove the deployed as a priority. Select more than one in the left-hand pane of the Deployment tab, right-click and select Remove. If you receive 'Access Denied', go to the dashboard and click Configure Sytem Service. Stop and then Restart the service and attempt to remove the clients again.
Testing
Install the new Filguard version 4.1.0.25 and encrypt a document and then open it again.
