Question

I am printing out multiple pages on one physical page - in a handout format pdf documents, but even though one physical page is coming out of the printer Ranger Print Manager still charges the user four individual print outs.

Cause

Our developers assume Adobe is spooling in Postscript.

Resolution

Ensure you have the “Postscript Checking Level” option set to Extended in File/Options/Printing.

Otherwise, try to force the driver to spool in EMF. Most drivers have an options but sometimes it’s hidden depending on the manufacturer.

See Gia’s FAQ http://www.gaiacomputing.com.au/FAQ/FAQ.asp for how to find it in different drivers. Even with EMF enabled, Adobe tends to use raw Postscript if it can so try changing to a PCL driver.
