Creating and saving custom groups in Remote Control

Question

Is it possible to create and save the groups I create whilst in a Remote Control Session?



Symptoms

As when I create custom groups in my session, close the tutor application down, and re-open it later on, the groups I created previously have dissapeared



Cause

Yes it is possible to save the groups you created, but first you need to have started the session by browsing to students beginning with <machine name>.

 

So from the Tutor application, from the main toolbar going across the window.

 

  • Select School
  • Browse and select Configuration
  • From the configuration window, select startup
  • Tick the first option Browse and Connect to Students starting with <and specify the criteria>
  • Click ok.


Now this should close the configuration window, and lead you back to the main screen, hit refresh to connect to your students, and create your groups as usual.

 

Close the tutor down, and re-open it, and it should refresh with your custom groups.
