Unable to set attributes for RamEngineUser

Question

When installing Ranger Account Manager, at the final stage of applying my settings I get an error message informing me that some attributes could not be set for RamEngineUser?



Symptoms

"Some attributes can not be set"
Configurator has rolled-back all settings which had been successfully appliead before the error occurred.



Cause

This is known to be caused by Microsoft issues, where more information can be found on the following link:

Resolution

If you run the test tool below, and obtain the result similar to "Ace Object is invalid" then this suggests that you have the bug mentioned in the abvoe article and would need the hot fix described by microsoft.

Some customers simply update their Server Operating Systems service packs, and reinstall their .Net Framework to the latest version and the issue is resolved.
