Ranger Remote Control Student Toolbar

Question

How do I stop the Student Toolbar from displaying when a Tutor session connects to a Student machine for all Tutors on the same machine?

Cause

Updates to RRC v9.01 have included a Student Toolbar that displays on the client machine when a Tutor connects

Resolution

The Student Toolbar can be turned off on an individual user basis but you want to apply it to all Tutors who logon to the same Tutor machine.

Instructions

To prevent the Toolbar from displaying for any Tutor who uses the Tutor software to connect to a Student: 

Open the Registry editor on the machine where the Tutor software is installed.

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-NetSupport Ltd-PCICTL-ConfigList-Ranger Remote Control.

Change the StudentToolbar-FixedStudentUI REG_SZ entry to a '0' and reboot the machine.

Testing

Logon to the Tutor machine as several users and connect to a Student session.

Ascertain if the Student Toolbar is still displayed.
