Instructions

In the event that the solo synchronisation program does not load either automatically or manually then check the following settings and verify your system has been correctly configured.

On the PC with Solo Installed

You will need to login with administrator rights and run Ranger Administrator. Check that the local installation of Ranger is configured to work with (point to) Ranger on the Network server. To do this click edit, settings then change or verify that the Ranger Server IP Address is indeed that of the Network server address and not "127.0.0.1". Note: After you have applied the setting the machine will need to be restarted for the modification to take effect.

Next check that the users home directories are being created and stored in the default installation directory of "c:program filesrangeruserhomeusername". If not then you will need to move the users home directories into this folder and reapply security permissions.

Next check that the user has the correct permissions to access home directory and subfolders on the local machine with either their local username or their network username. To do this right click on the folder and go to sharing and security, view the folders security and then add the network username with full control ? you will need to authenticate against the server with an administrator account on the network domain if you have not already done so.

Next check using Ranger administrator that the profiles for the groups used are set to use ?personal my documents folder?.

Try testing the settings, by creating new files on the local machine and on the server and then logging into the network with the test user account. This will automatically run the Solo synchronisation utility which will then list the files that can be copied and should include the new files created.

On the server

If Solo Synchronisation is still not working after making modifications outlined above, then compare your version of the SoloSync.exe found in the Ranger directory and if it is 4.2.0.0 or older then download the latest copy of SoloSync. Use the downloaded file to overwrite the existing file in the Ranger directory and then try again.
