Question

Are there any problems running Ranger and Dreamweaver 4?

Instructions

The only problem we are aware of with users running Dreamweaver 4 on a Ranger machine is that when they press F12 to preview their page in a browser, Dreamweaver actually creates a copy of the HTML page in a temporary directory on the "C" drive.

If the default browser type is Internet Explorer then Ranger will sees it as pointing to a file on the C: drive and assume there is a security violation and close IE down. This feature is by design, but can be bypassed by adding the path to the temporary directory path as an "Exception to Explorer title checks" in RangerAdmin's EditSettingsGeneral page.

This will make legal paths starting with the exception text.

Ie. add "C:\Program Files\MacromediaDreamweaver 4" in one of the 3 spaces.
