Question
How do I add ADM files into Ranger Admin?
Symptoms
By default only Ranger ADM files are loaded into Ranger Administrator. These are Ranger9x.adm or RangerNT.adm depending on which environment branch you view.
We have developed the Ranger ADM files includes a selection of the most popular security and environment policies used in Schools.
Generally the default policies includes all the day to day settings that are needed in order to secure and configure the users session.
Cause
We also supply additional policy files which can be imported into Ranger Administrator to provided additional customisation, for example system2000.adm and proxy.adm.
If you find a setting which you would like to control or configure and its not listed in the default policies then you can add these additional adm files and see if the policy which controls the setting is available. A common request is to add the proxy.adm file, this can allow you to set on a group level the Internet Proxy settings.
Resolution
Add the required policy adm file into Ranger Administrator
Instructions
To add a policy adm file open Ranger Administrator and go to edit from the drop down menu and choose settings, select the Environment tab and then for each OS click the add button. Browse to the RangerAdm Files directory and highlight the required ADM files then click ok to add the file. Ranger Administrator will then refresh and display the new ADM files with the new policy settings
